Final Blog Post for the Program
Being a part of this fellowship opened new channels in my trajectory in growing: I am so pleased to have met such wonderful and passionate individuals through this program, some who I have gotten to know more outside of it and within. I love sharing and absorbing knowledge that feels so intuitive and indigenous, but would never have been able to had I not joined this program.
Farming is a skill which you continue to build on the further you come into it; you are constantly learning, reorienting, and changing your modes of operation, decision making and planning with each season; as we continue experiencing this climate crisis, we are dealing with new challenges that are impacting land and our bodies.
Amirah, you’ve been an incredible force and resource for us, and I can only wish you warmth and success for your next undertaking of starting your own seed farm! (Thank you for sitting with me that one time to sort out my shit as a new co-farm manager!!). I still feel slightly lacking in confidence in my capabilities, but have a lot more knowledge of what it requires of me, and more importantly, how much more opened up I feel to the world of growing in general.
I will be forever grateful for this year of learning and unlearning, and will continue to carry this knowledge with me for the rest of my life, and beyond to my descendants.
